Arigato Sushi Arigato Sushi is the latest in the long sad history restaurants in this location. This storefront has the dual negative Feng Shui of being located on the outside corner of one Amherst’s busiest intersections (“Avoid straight paths, as this will lead the tigers to your door”), and being located in a gustatory vacuum, only a few storefronts up the hill from Antonio’s pizza. In the time I have been in Amherst there has been roughly one new restaurant a year in this location, every year for the last twenty years. One of these restaurants I remember being pretty good, and the woman I was dating and I used to go there and revel in being the only ones in the place, again. Since eating uncooked fish isn’t my thing I haven’t’ made it to Arigato Sushi in the few months that its been open. At the time of this writing there is a sign in the window stating that this restaurant will be closing and steak house will be opening in this location shortly. Good luck.
